Residents are taught how to find and use available resources.
Residents attend weekly recovery groups. Most of these groups have scriptural emphasis and are faith based 12 Steps Recovery groups.
Other NA/AA 12 Step groups are offered as well.
Residents attend a bi-monthly meeting with other ex-offenders to dialogue about coping with life on the outside and to hear from community professionals.
(Transportation is provided to these weekly/bi-weekly programs)
Community experts are brought in to teach this topic. Residents are assisted in establishing checking and savings accounts.
Residents are provided guidance through the process of pursuing a GED/Diploma/Degree at the local community college. Residents soon will be able to attend the local community college as full time students on scholarship in the building and automotive trades to earn diplomas and certificates.
Qualified professionals teach this class in our group sessions.
Each resident is provided with one set of new clothing items. The residents cook their own food which is provided for them until they start receiving food stamps or find work. Residents receive a bus pass for transportation to search for work and connect with other community resources. They receive weekly transportation to AA/NA meetings and other services and support groups.
Residents are matched with community volunteers to assist them through their transitioning journey.
Residents are encouraged and guided to practice making good choices on a daily basis.
Residents will blend in with other people of faith in a worship setting and be shown how to apply biblical truths to everyday life.
Assistance offered includes resume writing, interview skills, job search and transportation.
Residents are be taught to think and prepare for the FUTURE.
Included in weekly meeting. Residents are instructed on the process for making ethical decisions and wise choices.
